Everything should be current on the touch though because I had to update the software before loading the app, I think it was 2.0. And part of the process was the restore so I'd assume it loaded the latest firmware, not sure though.
iPod Touch, go to Settings > General > About, halfway down you will see version if it says 2.0 (5A347) you are at the latest version.

I ended up restarting the iPhone and it works fine now! initially numbers weren't being populated whatsoever, followed by a crash. after the restart, the app works flawlessly. thanks man, this thing rocks!

Just checked and that's what I have. I've restarted it a couple times as well and still no worky.
