i got my deep v's from here. they are based out of santa cruz. i paid 285 shipped. they have a lot of colors to choose from also quick shipping too |
Thanks for the help! Man that shop looks great, i think i'm probably going to buy my deep v's from them, they have so many colors!
And also, whats the difference between machined side walls and non-machined side walls |
machined are for brakes. non-machined are more for brakeless. you can still use brakes on them but they are not as ideal.

haha thanks.
So can anyone help me out about the my situation here? Because my front wheel has brakes, i should get machined deep vs, and for the back wheel, i should get non machined right? let me know! |

I got silver Velocity Vs / Formulas from Bells for just over $200 on ebay. At first I was going to get some Fusions, machined front and non-machined rear, but there are so many deep V sets out there at good prices right now that I just went with a stock set, which I am guessing are machine-built. I figured the silver machined rims would be the most versatile in the long run, plus I think the machining looks fine on a silver rim, regardless of whether I have a brake (I have a front brake).
My lbs looked them over and told me not to bother with tensioning/re-trueing until after I ride them for a while, and then only if they start pinging or actually go out of true. They seem fine. Also - I've read some gripes about Bell's delivery times but I bought on a Friday or Saturday, they shipped on the following Monday and I had them on Wednesday. I got several emails where they had printed a shipping label, then canceled it, then printed it again, but it didn't affect the delivery time. |
