Alien Build
Well, the hard part is done: Decisions.
Researched heavily online, I may have read the entire history of BF:SS&FG, and I can quote sheldonbrown.com/fixed like a Sunday-school teacher. Sourced through a combination of OEM, eBay, online retailers, & my LBS, everything is paid for (~1200) & on the way, now I wait…
What’s important to me for this build: lugged-steel track-geometry frame, 1" threaded headset for an old-school quill stem, fixed/fixed rear, dropped bullhorns, and a leather saddle. No brakeset holes, no cablestop/waterbottle braze-ons, no fendermounts. Settled on a simple color scheme of black w/ white accents.
Here’s what’s rolling in over the next week or so:
frame/fork/headset:
Fame Dimensions (59cm frame, I'm 6'0"):
Seat tube (c-c): 57cm
Top tube: 57cm
Head tube: 17cm
Seat angle: 74°
Head angle: 74.5°
D/T-wheel gap: 13mm
Fork rake: 28mm
BB drop: 6cm
Chainstay: 40cm
Stand-over: 84cm
Rider height: 179-186cm
Photos to follow...

i jam my thumbs up and back into the tubes. this way i can point my fingers straight out in front to split the wind and attain an even more aero profile, and the usual fixed gear - zen - connectedness feeling through the drivetrain is multiplied ten fold because my thumbs become one with the tubing.

I think your bike setup will be too quick and slick looking for a brooks imo.
A black or white turbo or modern lightweight saddle will do it more justice.
But thats some hot $hit for sure.

i would get a regular unpainted chain, painted chains always looked a little cheezy, and I second the statement above about the saddle.

I'm gonna be that guy for a second...
Sounds like a fairly solid build besides the alloy toe clips (break way too easily, negligible weight savings over steel) and straight gauge spokes. Honestly, why build a custom wheelset with straight gauge for anything ever (excepting perfectly surfaced velodromes)?
Other than that, I really want to see more pics of Aliens built up, I've been considering going the Alien route myself.
