Awesome Advertising!
So the ads off to the side of the page are supposed to appeal to the target demographic (us, fixed gear ss riders)right?
Then what the **** is a Warcraft ad doing on our page??? Or, am I totally wrong about Warcraft and it is actually really cool? Last time I checked Warcraft was for dorks living in their Mom's basement... Not that there is anything wrong with that I just am failing to see the association between that and riding bikes.
PF

^The ones on the right side of the page... Ads by Google. Please tell me that I am not the only on that sees them.

Actually as I understand it those ads are how bikeforums pays for its server space. They're annoying and have almost nothing to do with cycling. I'm more amused by the Warcraft ads. The last ads I saw were for really bad dating services for motorcyclists who wear bikinis...
Firefox is one way to ignore them... Or you could be a paid member.
and World of Warcraft *is* really cool. Google it and you'll be surprised. It's one of the largest of the self-support cash economies on the web. And its all grey market to boot. Blizzard has come down hard on people who are trying to buy cool stuff for their characters but can't seem to squash the market.
There's solid rumor of folks who have made playing WOW a purely off-the-books full time job.

I am paid member. I see no ads.
That said, my GF plays WoW. She runs a guild or something like that. I've been a tabletop RPG player all my life, but I refuse to get involved with WoW. At least with TT RPG you're sitting around a table with actual people and actually interacting with actual people, using your actual imagination.
That that said, I haven't actually TT RPed in months. Been too busy riding.

Totally.
I can bolster that assessment even further by saying I took accordion lessons when I was younger and I still pull out the old squeezebox every couple of months for a little rowdy-dow.

wow. I wasn't mad I just found it funny. I pains me greatly that no one actually thought that a Warcraft ad was hilarious. And for the record I don't think that I am cool based on a loose association with people who obviously don't have the same sense of humor as me on an Internet Bike Forum.
