Quill Stem Issues
I have a 70's or 80's Soma(from Japan, not San Fran) Generation with a 1 inch threaded headset, or so I thought it was a one inch threaded headset. I bought a quill stem that is 22.2 diameter and when I tried to put it in it's too big. I was under the impression that that's as small as they get.
Any suggestions on something smaller that will definitely work? I'm assuming I'll have to go vintage and search by trial and error, which is going to be a pain in the ass.

Turns out it's 21.1 instead of the 22.2 which I thought it was. ****.
I really would like to keep this fork because I just sanded and painted the whole frame. I'm trying to use a quill adapter so I can use a 1 1/8 threadless stem and 31.8 diameter risers. I thought the Dimension one would be sweet, but I guess not.
Does the Pyramid 21.1 quill adapter/extender flare out to 1" or 1 1/8"?

I was actually trying to figure that out myself today. I still don't know the answer, but my guess is you need a shim to attach to a modern stem.
I also found this, another solution linked from a post here somewhere:

The difference from other 21.1 stems is that this one accepts road bars, not just smaller bmx bars.
