you can get a lot of bars though that fit 25.4mm stems. i even think that the bars that are 26mm will fit because .6mm difference is so small it'd still fit i believe. check out http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?m...th=188_232_593 for some bullhorns, priced pretty reasonable to me.

Is it me, or is it the stock pedals can get really slippery?

i dont like the stock pedals. i LOVE my mks pedals, specialized cages and sugino straps. or my eggbeaters/mtb shoes. i have the stock messenger pedals on my beater bike, and they suck. the straps and cages are too flimsy and are hard to get into/out of

the three points of the bike you should upgrade would be:
1. Saddle 2. Pedals 3. Handlebars. i of course, went backwards with this.... i'll upgrade the saddle in due time. |

i just dont like the stock handlebar. so i have a bullhorn, track drops, a chopped flatbar, and a set of risers.
pedals sucked stock, so i have eggbeaters/mtb shoes, adn a set of decent straps/cages. saddle sucked. uncomfortable IMO. so i swapped with a san marco rolls. another point that should be upgraded/changed is the gearing. i found the stock gearing WAY too tall for my terrain. i am running a 18t rear cog and it is much better for me. that is 72 gear inches. |
yea stock pedals are crap, i've got the sylvan track w/ mks clips coming in also. can't wait to stop riding these bars and pedals. next to upgrade is the wheelset along with the cog to a 17t and a new saddle.
|
i dont have any problems with the wheelset. bearing spin freely, tires are decent, they are relatively true. i dont see a point to upgrading
|
those egg beater pedals are expensive. I am looking for something around 30 - 50 dollars, and planning to run toe clips on them, any recommendations? I also want something where i can pedal on both sides.
|
eggbeaters are like $50 shipped. i got mine "brand new" on ebay for $20 shipped. and a pair of mtb spd shoes for like $15 "brand new"
|
i've trued the wheels and it seems these wheels for some reason won't hold it. i'm only upgrading since a friend is getting new wheels so i'll be getting his old ones for cheap.

|
i still haven't upgraded my pedals, and i'm waiting to upgrade my saddle since i feel i might get a better ride adjusting the seat.
other than mks, what other pedals are recommended here? but no clipless, i can't afford shoes too. |
scan ebay. i almost bid on a set of mks peda;s/cages and straps for like $20 shipped. i should have scooped them up
|
the mks pedals looks like the stock pedals on the moto, is it gonna be slippery?
|

srsly tho... They are spring loaded and you pop your foot straight down to engage them and twist your ankle out a little to release them. They work a lot like SPD pedals only egg beaters break more often and you can't adjust the float tension. :D |
i dont care. i romp on them, on and offroad *i pulled them off my downhill mtb to take the pic*, and they havent given me any issues. plus, at $50 for a pair, i can afford to replace them as needed

There is nothing wrong with crank brothers pedals, I'm just (A) a fan of SPD pedals and (B) a ******bag. On a more serious note- any pedals that you are "replacing as needed" should be replaced with better quality pedals. I've been riding the same Shimano 545's on my mountain bike(s) for almost a decade. The pedals have outlived 2 bikes and are still going strong on #3. Pedal on. |
werd. *high five*
