Hey, i was looking into some frames for a fixed gear bike. I went to a couple of shops and one recommended the Dolan Pre Cursa. I was wondering if any of you guys heard anything about it? Its $400 with a carbon fork , so seems like a decent deal. Thanks in advance.....

Not too bad for the price. Dolan is a good brand that makes high end track bikes.
I think that bike will probably ride really stiff for the street, but would be great for the track.

I ride a team replica (the full sized version of this) on the street and it rides great. A nice smooth character but with great acceleration and really tight handling. Watch for overlap on the smaller sizes, though. I have a similar Alpina fork on it. I find the ride smoother than my Soma steel frame with steel fork that I rode previously.

That said, it really feels like it is too nice for commuting. It wants to be on the track.

I've seen people recommend the Pre Cursa as a beginner track bike, but the geo is the same as IROs which are usually not recommended due to their "slack" geo.

It's not though. Head and Seat tube angles are different.

Size: 50cm

who isn't recommending the IRO? I have personally recommended the Angus and Mark V (same geo) to many different people, both new and old. It's a great bike for a beginner and I am pretty sure I have seen it recommended many different times. Even if it wasn't recommended, it certainnly wouldn't be for "slack" geo. Someone post evidence if i'm wrong. Dolan is a good bike. Probikekit.com sells them cheap. Go for it.

When people recommend IROs as a solid bike for street riding they usually mean the mark V. Also, 50cm sized bikes always have wonky geometry

iros will definitely do the job perfectly well enough but definitely not the best.
