Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Borrow bike in Berlin?

I'm going to be in Berlin from August 25th through December 14th, and I will be without bike.

I was wondering if any of you cycling folks from Berlin would be interested in lending me a bike while I'm in town. I would be willing to put some money down for rental, although I cannot afford too much. I'd bring my own lock, and I can do all my own maintenance.

I'll be living in Prenzlauer Berg. I'll ride just about anything; fixed, singlespeed, road bike, touring bike. No brakeless fixed or recumbents. Those are my only two requests.

Just PM me here or you can email me at at lawrence dot edu.

Thanks a lot.
