this is what i was saying earlier, no wheels are designed to take that kind of abuse, some wheels are better at taking it, but no track specific wheels are 100% bomb-proof. some get close. if you run an aerospoke, you know what you're getting into, all track wheels will fail eventually if you ride them like a trials/bmx bike. but they're not gonna explode just by turning left.

I was just kidding. Although I guess the rim would survive if you hammered the spokes...

I recently purchased two aerospoke rims. I purchased the front wheel first and after having the stocked rim switched out, I noticed the difference immediate. The bike took off faster and coasted longer. I came back to the bike shop the next day and purchased the rear wheel. I have a 21 speed road bike and after having the stocked rear wheel switched out for the aerospoke, I immediately went for a 17 mile bike ride. And I have to say that the money for the rims were well spent. The ride was much easier and I had no problems taking off. I am not a racier and I used mountain bikes my whole life. I recently purchased a road bike for the first time which is easier to ride around Chicago, but since switching to aerospoke rims, the ride has become a lot easier.


So my advice would be make sure your bike seat height is adjusted correctly along with the handle bars and make sure the gears are tight. I cannot speak on how aerospoke rims work on fixie's, but on my 21 speed road bike, they're perfect.

No reason. I commented on another forum thread about "What's so bad with Aerospokes?" and the amount of hate I got towards supporting Aerospoke was simply unnecessary. So people just troll certain products. Kinda like Lebron James.
