Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Okay, here's the reply I got back from White Industries about the BB Mihlbach showed:

The bottom brackets can be overhauled easily. There is a lock ring that needs to be removed on the non drive side utilizing a Shimano lock ring removal tool, the cups can be removed utilizing a Shimano BB cup removal tool. The bearings are a press fit so all you would need to do is press out the bearing and repress a new one in. Really the bearings are the only thing you would ever need to replace and they have a high load capacity rating so should last a long while.
In my mind, this makes it the best option you could get, even better than Phil Wood. The fact that you can overhaul your own bearings means you'll never buy a BB again, and you can easily pop new bearings in for a good $8 if you do the labor yourself (which anyone could do with the right tools). But they come stock with Enduro which are already high quality bearings so you wouldn't need to do overhaul for a year or two most likely.

Thanks Mihlbach for the link... I'm gonna run this as my next BB I think.

I'll definitely be checking that BB out when my current one goes kaput.

FWIW, you can overhaul the bearings on a PW BB as well. Just like the White BB the bearings are R&R.

I thought you had to send in a Phil back to them to get it overhauled...? Looking at the Phil I've had sitting around, it doesn't seem anywhere near as easy to overhaul as that White Ind.
