That's the way I took it, because of the wry irony on his succinct post...

I need to fill the cabinet with something, it's been dry for a few weeks.

Black Maple Hill.

I bought a few bottles of a newer company John Mark & Robbo. I really like their Smokey Peaty One (their name). It's blended, but good for the price.

This thread rules. It's good to know in the current economic crisis there are still folks with their priorities straight!

Woodford Bourbon.

sedition 10-12-08 10:18 PM

I need a lot of whiskey after that last Red Sox game. Ugh.

ricebowl 10-12-08 10:50 PM

Some bourbons I like that haven't been mentioned yet; Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Elmer T. Lee single barrel, and W.L. Weller Centennial.

Oh yeah. Jim Beam Black is actually pretty good and inexpensive, White not so good.

betaZenji 10-12-08 10:57 PM

Buffalo Trace (one of the best under $20 bourbon's out there)
Sazerac Rye
The Balvenie DoubleWood
Ardbeg 10 year (this is my all time fav)
Redbreast (if you like Irish Whiskies you gotta try it)

Oh children... Please. Wait until what age, commitment, responsibility and fatherhood will do to you. Then and onl then will any of this make any sense.

Blue if someone else is buying.

I'm well and truly late here.

I like the Laphroaig and the other Islay malts as well as Oban, Glenfiddich. Of the blended whiskies I like Sheep Dip and Jonny Walker (Black, Green, or if someone else is buying, Blue). I'm not a huge fan of any other types Whiskey.
