DON'T BUY A SPARTON. I bought one, and have been extremely disappointed. the frame is sloppy with cheap think crmo tubing. It absorbs nothing from the road and you feel every little bump. The seatstays rattle and quiver. The fork especially is horrible. I have since upgraded, and i suggest you save yourself a step

Wow, someone with 2 posts (because of a double post) comes on & gets instant credit. Amazing. For all we know he's the dude in the video who bent his fork (pick one)

I have a really hard time believing this statement, on metal properties and geometry alone. Crmo will always absorb more of the road than aluminum or a stiffer tubeset. The geometry on these sparton frames is fairly relaxed as well, which will also lend to the absorptive quality of the ride. The seatstays rattle? as in, they are not attached? Cmon now. Its possible there are pieces of flux or metal filings from the assembly process rattling inside the seatstays - this can happen when a tube is drilled for vent holes or at some point in the brazing process. Framebuilders soak their frames in a bath after brazing to break down the flux. If this is the case, and a piece of flux is inside the tube, you can do the same.

I don't think they look that bad. Actually this bike looks good to me.

I have to admit, after watching frame after frame go for seemingly astronomical amounts on eBay, I was thinking about ordering a Sparton again. Maybe it's a good thing Jorge didn't answer the phone just now.

I hate waiting, but it looks like I'm just going to have to be patient.
