Let's take a look at that article:

Armstrong attacks freedom of expression

February 18, 2009 at 10:46 pm · Filed under Cycling
Is there no limit to Armstrong’s arrogance? greenjersey is watching Eurosport’s coverage of the Tour of California, a race that makes the Tour of Spain seem interesting. The bunch was plodding up a long ramp when the American version of The Devil appeared running at the side of the group. He was carrying a trident with prongs fashioned from hypodermic syringes and showing the legend “LiveClean.” Rather amusing I thought but L.A. failed to appreciate the message and gave The Devil a sharp push and he went arse over tit in to the snow! greenjersey is unfamiliar with the California Penal Code it seemed like a case of common assault. I trust the Police Dept. will arrange a night in the cells for Mr Big.
Ya, that was a completely fair and balanced account of what happened, as was your post. While we're tossing opinions around I thought it was hilarious that he pushed the guy into the snow bank.

Here's the clip, btw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3rjb4G8ZMI

Props to Lance for dealing with a common asshat.

Edit: just came across some photos of LANCE ATTEMPTING TO MURDER AN INNOCENT CITIZEN IN COLD, DOPED THE GILLS BLOOD: http://magliarosa.wordpress.com/2009...diabo-moderno/ ... oh wait, it's funny as ****.

ha! lance is such a badass.

If you're going to debate Armstrong's ******bag level you might as well see what he has to deal with: http://velonews.com/article/87658/as...-the-spotlight <-- watch the video.

Look dude, any ass-hole running alongside riders deserves a mouthfull of tarmac. What are these idiots thinking trying to get their ugly faces on tv whilst putting de riders in an unnecessary dangerous situation.

They should really send out some cops to ride with the pack. The amount of runners was totally out of hand during yesterday's stage.

The Europeans know how to behave at these cycling events, it is part of their culture. I guess the Yanks have a bit more to learn.

The announcer's reactions were great "Ah great Lance, thank you very much, Lance!"

The Ole Einar Bjørndalen of cycling.

Then a rider (Columbia maybe?) punched a spectator that trampled another spectator which was also pretty badass.
The dad running with his baby shaking it all over the place took the cake though.

MysticRats 02-24-09 08:52 AM

There was this one dude running in a Inflatable SUMO outfit who
I thought was gonna trip over himself and cause a crash.
Too bad not too many half nekid chicks do the run. :roflmao2:

have u never seen a professional bike race overseas... they run along the peloton when they can... i'm saying it's right or not, but LA was the first one to "assault" a runner....

i thought the act was funny at the time, but honestly LA should have just kept riding. he doesn't need to make a "statement" by anymeans

Lance wasn't the first to do anything. There've been altercations between riders and fans going back for decades and he's definately not the first one to push a fan over.

And **** that guy, if you're close enough to be pushed over, you're too close for safety in the first place.

Carabo 02-24-09 08:18 PM

+1

I have been to numerous TDF (mountain) stages and it's hectic and overcrowded near the tops but that last Tour of California stage was insane regarding the runners. Just too many running along. It's pointless and just as long Lance doesn't push over Frenchmen in France these are very good statements. Broken collarbones and messed up seasons suck hard.

Protesting against organized doping is a good thing.
Especially if it is as creative as this.

The only one who deserves a mouthful of tarmac is the rider who betrays not only his fellow contestants but millions of fans all over the world - not to mention of spitting on the idea of a fair sport.

organized doping is organized crime - and the riders are its protagonists. In Europe the trade with drugs meant for professional sports is entirely in the hands of the mafia - it is simply disgusting.
It just puts the idea of sport to an absurd level of mere exploitation.
After watching the Tour, biathlon, athletics and other sports for years I realized that I was totally naive and blinded by the colourful 'show' - That is why I stopped watching these sports.

Who is interested in the subject - I can recommend the following documentary:

Blut & Spiele (2007) - Blood & Games
its a german docu but with many interviews held in english.

ride and stay clean - its good for your own health & dignity.

do you honestly mean to imply that lance, the stupid american, is somehow unfamiliar with european race etiquette?
you're an idiot.
