I ride fixed gear 5.5 mi. each way five days a week. All urban west side through downtown to near east side. I'll ride as long as the streets are clear and the temps are 20 deg. or better.

KHS Flite 100 fixed gear. 28 miles M-F, 14 miles each way. Takes 45min-70min depending on the traffic. I rotate shifts a lot so sometimes I am going to/coming from at midnight, 4am, noon, 5pm etc... so traffic varies a lot. 55 minutes is a good average. Moderate hills, mostly flat.
Weekends are a mixed bag. Sometimes I take it easy, sometimes I do 50 miles each day. I ride my SS mountain bike on weekends a lot (usually about 10 miles on dirt trails).

I ride a minimum of 20 km a day (that is my return commute) but usually ride a lot more since I do not drive and all my travelling is done by bike... that... and I really like riding.
Last year I averaged 43 km a day and rode almost every day of the year...my slow days were made up for with some longer distance rides in the country or had days when I rode 100 plus km in the urban countryside.

I ride 4 miles each way to school and back, and often I ride home from school and then ride 2.5 miles back to work and 2.5 miles back home from work.
I also work on my bike a bit, and that entails anywhere from 2 to 15 miles of riding in a shift.
I do this in rain, snow, ice, sleet or shine.
I live where the Cascade Mountains meet the high desert, so it's often windy and the wind direction tends to blow the opposite direction of wherever I'm riding.
I don't drive, so I also ride to the store, to the bike shop, to town, the library, to meet friends, to shows, everywhere. Public transit is pretty dismal here, but that's okay, because on my fixie, at 38x18, I can ride from one far corner of town to the opposite far corner in about 25 minutes! And yes, it is a bit hilly....

I live real close to everything, so I ride a lot less than I'd like. I need to live farther from work and school.

3.5 miles to work, one big, steep hill at the beginning, then flat the rest of the way. I often take the long way home which is about 7 miles. 42-16 singlespeed.
I ride either the fixie or the singlespeed when I ride with my wife. Yesterday we rode 38 miles and encountered a number of good hills to climb. I try to stay with her but with one gear it's hard to go that slow because I have no momentum on the cranks and I must rely on my weight and pulling on the bars to keep going. So I go ahead, then loop back. I think I must've climbed one hill three times doing that.
