Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

We used to run motorcycle poker races. Every lap, you stop and get a card, then award something to best hand etc...

unless you are coming in for the race on sunday, I don't think I would bother going down there. It was kind of boring.

oooh!! it just clicked! i went to this thing last year. yeah, it wasn't very exciting, except the IF booth and seeing the de rosa carbon fiber road frame...IN MY SIZE!!! too bad it was like, 2 grand. the seven and serotta booths were pretty sweet as well, but IF was my favorite...oh, and the SCUL and BNB booths because SCUL is rad, and i'm friends with the BNB folks.

So, I drive up to Boston for the show. It was well worth the drive. They had a Greenspeed micro trike, I almost had to make BentbaggerJan get on it for a test ride. So off she gose around the test track. The smile on her face when she came back put all my fears behind me... I've ordered a tandem trike from Organic Engines, as a surprize. Should be here next week I tried the same micro trike and liked the ride, but the found the frame was a little light for me, and flexed quite a bit when stopping.

To the person that owns the blue Greenspeed, with the Rolloff hub. If your on this list. Ware did you get your front chain ring?

Joined MassBike, spent a few bucks with the sock guy, picked up a few stickers. There was a cool chopper in the Schwinn/GT aera the rear tire was at least 5" wide. I really have to make a point of visting the New England Muscle Bike Musem. They had quite a few bikes at the show. Hell, there less then 10 miles from my house. By the way they will be hosting a bike swap soon. There was a booth that offered smooothys made in a pedal powered blender. DOA! Sorry I left the camara at home so I dont have any photos. Some really nice road bikes with engraved Ti lugs.

It was worth the drive up, as for the drive back not so great, one of the cylinders of the car stoped firing, and had to limp home on three. I'm sure the cat is shot as well now... Oh well thats the joys of owning a car right?
