Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Im jealous.....

of New York fixies, as they have their oldskooltrack.com.

We Chicago fixies need to unite and build a website! If anybody is game, I have a digital camera, access to miniDV cams, digital video editing, I have a simple domain name we could use until maybe we spring for something else, photoshop, blah blah blah..

Anybody else out there interested in joining the cause? This is certainly somethign I don't have time to take on alone...but with a few partners, I could certainly make something happen...

What do you think, y'all?

I think we should all get together and overthrow a small South American country, rename it Fixieland and rule over the nonfixies with an unrelenting iron fist. But that's just me and I'm not in Chicago anymore.

I hereby nominate "The Fixer" for Prime Minister of said country.

We could all probably just chip in a few bucks and buy one.

Seconded! Of course I would nominate Mayonnaise as Minister of Propoganda and Willy Karsten as Secretary of Offense

Yeah, I don't think fixed-gear bikes always attract the most affluent riders. Those 'few bucks' would be pretty tough to squeeze from this group!

F that...getting together is soooo uncool. Just send me $1 to:

48:17, 165
c/o City of Chicago
Ticket # 49586743
Chicago, IL

I only need 50 replies to this address and I'll, er, I mean we will have a great new website.

You know that was why I quit driving, parking tickets from the city of Chicago, only I my total was about 50x your one ticket. In other words I had more than a few tickets! Remember, pay that ticket so that the city can have a "balanced" budget.

And that's Mr. Slick Willy to you.

I second your nomination. We could go on the offensive all the time. Cooridnated attacks. Stealth riding.

If you build it they will come. Talking about building sites never gets anything done. Put something up and I bet you'd have everyone checking it.
