Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

This would be my first fixie. The frame size is right for me, I like the bullhorns. But...my knowledge is minimal as far as the value and quality, so any and all info would be helpful.

Is this bike worth the price?

Thanks!

375's about right for that bike. i use the older "cayne" uno version of that bike for polo and it works. itll be a good first fixed gear.

Thanks! Now...the Uno or a Dawes SST for $329 delivered? The cost difference isn't that significant, so I could go either way. Is the Uno $46 "better"?

well you get all those extra tubes and parts with the UNO. As far as quality you're gonna find they're both comparable and the differences will only be related to the frame geometry but otherwise they're both good starter bikes. Personally I would offer the CL guy $350 cash since he sounds in a hurry to sell it.

I had a choice between a Cayne Uno and a KHS Flite 100 once...I ended up going with the Flite 100...and it's all thanks to this review...whose points I found to be all true when I saw the Uno in person...mainly the part about it being heavier...
