What Cranks are best?

So I ride alot and mess with tricks mostly.

Looking for a new set of cranks preferably 165mm and black.

Suggestions on cranks and chain ring anyone?

I have been thinking about that. That combo is my backfall everyone rides those and I want to look around a little before I drop $250+ on that setup.

The link i posted is for the 165mm. I just ride. The only trick i do is a wheelie. These cranks are stiff thanks to the BB. Just check out some reviews on them.

Yes they will most likely break during trix.

Laugh. wtf are you talking about. give evidence/examples of this. that is not true. Andels are quality. If you guys want to spend 300+ on sugino75s and Zen chainrings because you think you'll notice a difference between them and Andels, you are plain wrong. I know, I own both right now. Andel is fine. If you want 75s for bling or to feel better about your bike, thats one thing, but don't try to say Andels will break because they cost less or are "cheapos".

No, do some research. They are good stuff. A bit better than IRO cranks in quality, a bit more expensive as well. I do believe IRO cranks are only offered 170mm though.

you're just upset you didn't get black Andels to begin with, now you're stuck with crappy silver iro's (on an otherwise all black bike) that make more noise than a poorly hacked/converted roadbike crankset. And now your bikes in the shop because of it. Must be frustrating. But anyways, nice review of the Andel!

Get a pair of old-school square taper shimano 600 cranks off ebay. There are always tons of very good condition 600 cranksets for sale. Andels and IROs are fine, but not as classy or nice as a good pair of Shimano 600s. Plus, they look sort of like sugino 75s, but with a 130BCD. You can't beat em. They work well with a 107-110 mm bb with the ring on the outside.

Bikes: How'd I get this many?

I agree about the old road cranks. Just be careful that your bike has a relatively high BB. I have road cranks on two bikes. One I've never had any issues with. The other I've had some close calls with pedal strike. I have to remember to slow down on corners. Just something to consider. I think road doubles are hard to find in 165mm, I think; I have 170s.

5mm is so marginal when it comes to pedal strike – i wouldn't worry about it
