ouch. someone on the internet is questioning my intelligence. that really stings, and my ego is now crushed. oh dear god how will i ever go on living when "bac" of bikeforums.net thinks i'm an idiot?! sweet jesus shine your divine light into my heart that i may get through these troubled times. lord, give me strength...
why are people on the internet so quick to insult other people's intelligence? i stated my opinion, you called me immature and told me that i should keep my opinion to myself. well, so sorry, but isn't this a PUBLIC forum?
were you offended by my language? did i injure your delicate sensibilities with my curse words...err...asterices?
schiek, you're probably right, but public drunkeness is (sort of) frowned upon.

I actually prefer a forum where the Mods keep a light hand. I prefer someone with the honesty to tell me they don't like something to the societal norm of smiling to your face while being PC, and yet if any of those so called good people saw you on the street on fire they wouldn't piss on you to put you out.
Honesty is much less common than bull**** PC jargon and lipservice that the hypocritical masses breath in and out with every breath.

I was once willing to try to save the world from itself. Then I got drunk and distracted by my toenails. Did somebody say something?

anyway. it's just ****ing gross. all these people think they're doing something good for the world, when really, they're just screwing everything up, and pissing people off. plus they ride too damn slow and nobody looks where they're going. i don't believe in anything they stand for. plus there was some jackass walking around interviewing for KALX who came up to me and was all "do you mind if i ask you some questions?" to which i replied "sort of, yeah." and then he just started asking me questions! then i just told him i had to go...somewhere else and walked away. jesus christ what a rude bafoon! also before the ride started there were announcements and a woman from some berkeley better transportation agency (something along those lines) started talking about all these initiatives to get fewer cars on the roads and get something called "car-free housing" in berkeley, so that people can get housing and not have to worry about needing a parking space or something and it just didn't make sense to me because, if you don't want to have to worry about needing a parking space, then...don't get a car...why do people without cars need special housing? just all this stupid bull**** that yeah, it's a great idea and it's nice to want fewer cars on the roads, but...it just ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN!!
i split while i was heading to the front of the pack and i heard some women talking about how critical mass is a "male-dominated scene." and yes, there are more males there than females, but...in all the rides i did in boston, i never saw anything that could be remotely termed as sexism or misogyny. i understand the point, i just don't agree with it completely. plus, if you don't like it, don't come, OR...go to the female-only mass ride termed "clitoral mass."
after i heard that i booked it down the nearest side-street and thought to myself: "one. less. male." heh.
i'm gonna go shower...i feel ****ing disgusting. god damn crusty-ass hippies.

It seems this whole CM thing is just like the motorcycle rallies in Myrtle Beach/Sturgis/Daytona..started out as just some cool people getting together...then as all those that never had the nads to hang when they were young/broke get a little bit of dough, they decide to crash the party...the ******s...
Whatever...

Sweet post OneTinSLoth. I guess people who ride bikes because they think they are cool just don't get it. I have never been to a CM but it seems to me that some people might do it because it is 'the thing to do' in their clique. Oh well. I couldn't agree more about making things worse for bikers. There are more effective ways to get your message across than getting 'in your face' It certainly shouldn't be 'us against them' because we will always loose.
As for the PC comments. It never ceases to amaze me how thin skinned people are. Whatever the heck happened to being able to voice your opinion? I guess we can't since me may offend someone, haha, what a joke.
I agree, Patchouli smells like ass.

i don't even think it has to do with CM being the "in" thing to do. i think some people are just looking for some way to buck the system in any way they can, and so they go out and do this. either that or they're like me and are just looking to meet new people (why i went to a bunch of them in boston. new people i met: 0).
while i appreciate the good intentions, CM in berkeley really is just a solution looking for a problem.

life is absurd, society is absurd, cm is absurd, that is why I like it. absurdists unite.
though, i'd rather stop at stop lights, because even if there were no cars and only bicycles - you'd still need traffic control.
