BTW this whole search started off when I bought a new Woundup carbon fork (bike take off) at the Trexlertown swapmeet this month. I want to be able to use the fork but I am realizing how little there is out there for track bike with 1-1/8" threadless steerers.

i was able to scrape the surly graphics off using a plastic palette knife and then cleaned everything up after using some Goo gone...oh and the hairdryer helps to loosen up the adhesive a bit

well, i'd build a bike around a wound up track fork for sure. what about the marinoni pista, or one of the masis (coltello? or speciale?)?

It's right here - under 'buy parts' (top) and then 'framesets' on the left. I've also seen a some new Mark V's in my lbs's lately.

Surly graphics sure are ugly - really makes me not want to buy their stuff for some reason. Soma graphics are okay by me though.

That's not the Pro model. Incidentally I spoke with Nicole at IRO and they will be sold out of the Pro model til Spring 2009. Rats.

You know, Bareknuckles are really nice frames, and now is a good time not to have your savings invested in the market. Invest in Italian steel. :)

Cayne Uno should fit your bill. 1 1/8" threadless, chromoly frame. i picked up a frame & fork used for $100 the other day on NYC CR (who says there's no deals on there?! :) )

I think the jamis sputnik is available as a frameset...
The Lemond Fillmore (oops...I mean Fisher Triton) might be as well...

Only you can say whether or not you like the graphics on those models...

Any frame that's designed to take a 1 1/8" threaded headset will also take a threadless headset...It's the steerer on the fork that makes the difference...

BTW, how are you enjoying the fork on the Poprad Disc?...
I always wanted one of those...
Too late...

The fork on the Poprad is really comfortable - great for imperfect roads and long rides. Similar design to the Woundup but very different carbon structure - the woundup is wide and irregular and the bontrager fork is uniform tight weave.

I used to own a Fillmore incidentally but the geo is very road going and I don't like the rack brazeons on the seatstay.

BTW part 2: +1 on hating Surly's graphics...That logo is the worst...I would probably own WAY more Surly stuff if they just stamped "SURLY" in block capital letters...

I don't mind the white Soma Rush though...I think I'd probably cover up or remove the sunburst, but I don't mind the other graphics...

bianchi concept

SE Lager, peel-able stickers. I upgraded a lot of the components and love my ride. Same dimensions as the IRO V, Angus, and many of the frames mentioned above. You can get just the frame for $200 or less.
