You my friend, have a lot to learn and to look forward to. I would like to take this opportunity to be the first to introduce to you Mr. Sheldon Brown's article, Fixed Gear for the Road. Read and enjoy and try to not stay up all night and one day **you also** can build your own bike from scratch.

Edit: I also would like to suggest to you that you use the Search function of the forums, as pretty much everything has been discussed at one point or another and the archives are an invaluable resource. It helps to narrow your search down to the Singlespeed and Fixed Gear subforum.

Thank you sir. I will get to the reading.

i sold it because i dont have 4 legs :P

sold it to a dude in cali

the bike is propped up and the stand was cloned out using PS

anyone know where you can get gator skins? or armadillos?

darksiderising 10-16-08 01:01 AM

gatorskins from most bike shops. armadillos from specialized dealers.

What saddle is that on the IRO? A turbo? Brand?

chase. 10-19-08 10:12 PM

man, i'd love to have an old school steel bike again, with loose bearing everything.

Does anyone know what kind of seat that is on the orange Angus? (first post)? Is it a bianchi saddle?

Nor is it good for skidding, if you're into that sort of thing. It has a fairly soft rubber compound over a hard plastic liner. If you lock up your wheel, it'll rub that soft rubber right off .

idk what you're talking about.

So does anyone know what seat that is on the IRO? First post?

Sorry, I don't text. If you're saying "I don't know what you're talking about" let me expain: I had a pair of Armadillos on my road bike and during an emergency stop I locked up the rear wheel. The skid scrubbed off the top black layer of rubber, exposing a 3 inch long red streak. The red was a different compound which seemed to be a hard plastic. That's the flat protection layer, I think.

Looks like the Michelin Pro 3 Race tires also have colored sidewalls (as opposed to just colored stripes that aren't on the sidewalls):

only 23mm's though

I wouldn't use these for skidding; expensive and they have very good grip. My new favorite roadie tire.
