This is an EXCELLENT photo to describe old vs new style of frame design. The main triangle is what we now call "Compact Geometry". The top tube has simply been lowered (obviously). Notice how the drop stem that used to be necessary to get the bars in the right position now seems awkward. Why go up so high just to come down again? The logical steps would be to: - Lower the spot where the seat stays meet the seat tube. - Use more seat post - Trim the head tube - Install a rise stem to meet the bars. - Come away with a significantly lighter bike because you used trimmed so much material from the frame. Boom!: http://cyclingweekly.media.ipcdigita...Copenhagen.jpg This will be on the test next week. |
Also, compact geometries are stiffer.

Only acceptable 5 spoke is an iO. |

Nah, hwdxbassist knows his stuff. Since it doesn't look carbon, it's likely it may be another form of heavy plastic aerospoke-like wheel. It certainly doesn't look like a nice wheel, if you ask me.
|
Haha, my bad. Yeah, it may certainly be in the same boat as an arrospok. hwd, do you know the details about this wheel? I've been looking around online and can't find anything similar to it.

But the finish that they put on their is so smoooth. It for a concept bike built by Peugeot the DL-121-the bike itself is pr0n NOT worthy. that's all I know http://www.cycles.peugeot.fr/ressour...7400f39e0f.jpg |
I think it's a FFWD 5 spoke which is a less expensive version of the Io:
http://www.mcipollini.com/images/upl...orsa-speed.jpg http://www.entro.com.sg/images/ffwd_five-t.jpg I think it would be more popular if the logos were removable. But, the appear to be under the clear coat...and are obnoxious. |
