I highly doubt it being an 'ugle seam'. It could be dirt, or a badgered rim.
On a side note, I was in Dreamworks last week. the dude was fixing a RevX Xroks rim that had been f***ed. looked like epoxy resin and carbon sheet wrapped around the damaged area. The guy insisted it was fine. But I wasn't quite so sure. Well, he is the 'expert'!

how is that bike tarck? It is completely TRACK. Clipless pedals, proper drops w/ a positive rise stem, track wheelset, track frame. No obnoxious colors. No Brooks saddle. That looks like a bike that I would expect to see on the track. The only thing even slightly tarck about that bike is the pedobear sticker.
