i think it's called a sprinter's brace, it provides support to the nose of the saddle.

Oh wow! I spent some time at the Hetchin's site last night....amazing

Can you purchase hetchins lugs? They look identical to what was used for the Bilenky "hetchins tribute" bike I posted on the previous page. I would have thought that they would be signature lugs, and hetchins would not be selling them. OR perhaps they were salvaged from a destroyed frame?
