Decide if you want a fixed gear or a ss. I believe the Langster comes stock as fixed. Could probably be set up either way with no problems, but it's nice not be be surprised when you get in your hands, especially if you were really expecting one way or the other.

Considering I've never really done mechanical work on bikes at all, and I was able to convert the langster on my own, its can't be that hard. Just taking off the wheel, turning it around, putting on the fixie gear (mine's dura ace 16 x 3/32) and screwing on the lockring (it should come with a lockring), its simple as long as you have the lockring tool.Originally Posted by FXjohn

My langster was $439, but i've heard of people buying them in the high $300 range. You're gonna want different pedals, and DEFINITELY a different seat. The stock seat might as well be coated in broken glass.
If you want a pure track setup, the langster pro runs about 1400.

HEY That sounds like a reasonable price, and looks like a pretty good bike. (don't need a 1,400 dollar track bike)Originally Posted by s2sxiii

I have a specialized dealer near, I need to give them a call.
Probably a lot better idea than putting money into a piece of junk, like I was thinking about doing.
I am just using powerstrap pedals on my other bike, not clipless.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks and love it! Decent frame and wheelset. Rear hub is a flip/flop with a S/S 16T standard, front ring is 48T. The frame is Al with an Al fork. Good value for the money with decent components and comes with front and rear brakes. Light and quick and the build quality is first rate. Can't expect too much for around $400.00 assembled and backed by your LBS.Originally Posted by ARTHUR--RITIS

Some people have mentioned bikes from IRO Cycle. I built up their Al model and love it too. It could run you more but that's what happens when you customize.
Good luck on your search.
