The rusted kind.

the $200 level is pretty limiting, the only ones i can think of off the top of my head are waiting until bike island restocks the kilo framesets, or the se lager from bikebiz, or a pake is like 260 if you have a little bit more money.

I would pick up a sweet old road frame with as nice tubing as $200 will get you.

I got a Columbus SLX Bianchi with campy dropouts and amazing pantographing for $250. Black chrome, internal routing on left chainstay, etc. It was awesome. Used is the way to go (if the threads and paint are good [yes a big 'if']).

the scattante ssr frame gets under 200 from time to time. the lowest ive seen is 149.99 and then they have those 20% dealies off one item (bikes excluded)-- frames count with this discount. should put you at $140 or so after tax and shipping.

that being said, get the kilo tt when it comes back in stock. unless you already have a 1 1/8" fork.

I would buy two shares of apple stock. Then in a year or two I could buy a $400 frame set.

Did you decide to replace the Cannondale conversion?

I very much disagree with this. If you mean new, then perhaps. If not, then you can get a pretty sweet frame for that.

i definitely mean new

I mean...you can get a used Kilo TT frameset for like $100 and it won't be terrible. But IMO, nicer frames are always worth it.

The Kilo frame is $200 on bikeisland once they restock it. It ain't bad, it's Reynolds 520 tubing.
I think that's the best answer for spending exactly $200, however I'd recommend saving up for an angus or a Mark V.

$200 will get you a very nice used frame if you are patient, but it's perfectly reasonable to get something not as nice right now if you don't have a bike to ride.

$215 for the Jury frame at Bikeisland. Includes headset. I use it as my daily commuter 22 miles r/t. Other than the low quality paint job, i'm very happy with it.

Go to garage sales until you can find a bike your size with fancy tubing for $15. It isn't actually that hard.

+1000 on used frame. Lugs, Columbus tubing, chrome can be gotten for $200 or less. Road frames, not track frames. Hipsters have jacked prices up so much on those it's ridiculous(unless you are selling track frames).

Gardin Shred

Pinarello Treviso

John Howard(by Dave Tesch)

I got these for less than $200 each. The Gardin even came with a seatpost and Campy Chorus bb.
