Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I have those rims, they aren't new. They are brown powder coated rims with painted on wood grain.
Velocity is putting out some even better looking anoodized wood grain rims that wont wash off if you get a solvent on them.

just for random knowledge... up into the 50's many cars were using real wood. it was a remnant of the cars of the 30's and 40's who's doors and other panels were still made mostly of wood. as production improved there was a move towards steel, however the fear of lack of acceptance by the american public lead to the addition of wood "panels" for "style" which continued to be real wood until the late 50's early 60's when they became more plastic pieces like everything is on your car today.
