Bikes: Orbea Enol roadie, Fly Micromachine BMX, Fort Track fixed

Spotted an On One Pompino in Seattle today, fourth and Pine IIRC. Also saw what I can only imagine was a red Country Road Bob, judging by the curved down-tube. Not to mention the other 50-or-so fixies and SSs I've seen on my trip. Mmm, fix-tastic

Bikes: 2 fixies, 1 road, 29er in the works.

I am seeing more in SD lately. Watched some guy lock up the rear and make a left turn motor cross style across 3 lanes of traffic on broadway - fairly slick looking.

There's a lady with a FG Fuji that I see around town often and into hillcrest.

Bikes: 2002 Bianchi Pista, Cannondale R1000

I saw a certain someone's dark green Circle-A locked up on South Street on Saturday night. It must have looked funny for anyone watching because each time my girlfriend and I walked by it we slowed our pace to a near crawl and admired. It's even nicer in person than in the picture thread.

You've been riding fixed too much - shouldn't you have come to a complete stop?

Boston has boatloads of SS/fixes, but my favorite is the guy on the trike that rides down the sidewalk yelling "woop, woop, woop, woop" Anybody ever talk to that dude?

No, but I think I know the guy you're talking about. JP, right? I've given him a nod or a hey every now and again. Rock on, crazy dude.

Boston is full of them. When I go into the city to visit my GF I'm always checking them out. Mostly fixed gears for the messengers and scensters and single speed for the rest. I'm also starting to see alot of those downhilll single speeds. Bianchi has couple and so does Trek I believe; Downhill fork, disc brakes, BMX geometry and 26" wheels. Those bikes are crazy. I also made one of my friends bikes into a single speed by simply cutting the chain. I was pretty good so I could just pop the pin back in and bend the chain to work. That's what the single scene looks like in MA.

Are you talking about the guy riding the trike, typically on Newbury St. or in Back Bay somewhere? That guy dominates! I've never talked to him, but was in Newbury Comics one day when we was in there. He got all bent out of shape because they were playing Johnny Cash, then went on a tirade about country music in genaral... so they kicked him out.

I don't think you could talk to that guy even if you tried. He's pretty crazy.

Bikes: 1998 Stumpjumper Pro, SE Draft, 1984 Bianchi ATB, 1980? Raleigh Comp GS, Civia Loring

Penn Ave, Richfield.

Last night I saw a nice blue and white Falcon zipping northbound. He looked pretty smooth pushing about a 46/16 at a good clip.

Then this morning two dudes going SB on Penn, taking the lane side by side and going faster than traffic. All SS / Fixed i think, but 'twas dark.

First time since about '92 I've seen one other than mine, and within 2 days I see 3 bikes.

I see fg occasionally here in New Orleans. Just a few days ago I saw a guy with fg locking it up to a post as I was walking by. I stopped to chat a minute. He doesn't do BF, but he visits a site that he referred to as Dean Larson's site. I have done some searches, but I can't find anything like that or Larsen. Anyone familiar with it?

Here's one of those "Why not me?" stories. The guy was riding a 40 spoke Campy track wheel that he got at a thrift shop for FIVE BUCKS! The bike was a pretty sweet blue and white Tommasso (sp?) frame he had built up.

Oh, and I saw our friend Nolageek's Bianchi he just finished building up. Looks great.

I see quite a few in the Twin Cities, besides mine. I live on Bryant and frequently guys ride by on fixies. My favorite sighting to date was a little, pink Cirle A I saw locked up to a pole at Cafe Barbette in Uptown. There is a 2004 Bianchi Pista that is locked up near the Malt Shop on 50th and Bryant that I see frequently too.

hey, i'm from philly too... i ride the trail by the river to 30th street station everyday to the train. i've seen a bunch of fixes on the trail, usually in the oposite direction... we give eachother dirty (hahaha) looks and keep on going. mostly it's just roadies and dumb kids running in packs 6 deep shoulder to shoulder hogging the trail.

Bikes: Pake Track; Bianchi XL EV2 El Reparto Corse, Kona Jake the Snake

Seems like I see more and more everyday but the number I see seems to fluctuate with whether or not schools in session for all of the colleges in the city. Most are conversions, but I have seen a hand full of actual track bikes.

Saw a Bianchi SASS at the coffee shop last week. I was stoked. I have yet to see a fixed gear in town though. I do believe I am the only one.
