Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Bikes: Mercier Kilo TT Pro, Schwinn Le Tour Conversion, Free Spirit polo beater, Cervelo P2T, aluminum tandem.

Glad to see I am not the only one rockin the rear Aerospoke.

BTW you have the same setup as me, Aerospoke + front radially laced wheel. The drawback? Can't put my spoke cards anywhere! QQ!

You can't chrome aluminum, or at least that's not something you see often. The frame is just bare aluminum.

and yea ill for sure let you know how the ride goes tomorrow. lol and us leader owners are displaced by many peoples perception of leader bikes. so far i like mine, and until that changes im glad with my purchase.

i did have one issue though. the axle wouldnt fit in one of the dropouts but this isn't all that uncommon and we fixed it real quick at the bike shop. other than that everything was smooth sailing putting it together

hopefully ill get some nice pictures outside tomorrow morning. you'll be able to see the purple better
Thanks for the proper response and all the info.

I'm a messenger in toronto with a red shadow conspiracy Interlock 2 chain.
I've never had a chain snap, and I've tried all kinds.
Most chains will last me 4-6 months with regular wear

725 owners:

How do these hold up to general use, ie commuting to somewhat rougher urban riding? How's the ride? Any pros, cons, praises, complaints?

Noticed there's not a lot of reviews of these around the interweb, thought I'd gather some opinions. Seems pretty either/or thus far, although most of the negative comes from those who don't ride the frames.

I ride mine almost daily and have also done a few 100+ mile rides. I have no complaints with the frame at all. It's stiff but I can't really compare it to anything because I have only ever ridden mountain bikes before building the fixed.

Holds up nice. Mine rides smooth, but I do run a steel fork. I feel like it's a very nimble frame, thought, I am running an 80mm stem.

I really enjoy my leader. I don't do any tricks on it. I do the occasional curb hop but, thats it. I've had my bike since march. No complaints. I think I'd prefer a nice high end steel frame though. Especially if its for commuting. I just think steel is more practical for fixed riding.
I use this bike to ride 20+ around Miami.
