Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

At least there's a velodrome. But that would mean actually going to the track with your track bike.

Dallas is awful. I lived there for my first year of undergrad, and I couldn't deal with the bros.

And I can't imagine there would be a large track bike scene there, just because everyone who can afford to drive, does. And since there are three seasons - really hot, less hot, and freakin cold - it's not ideal for year-round bicycling.

I agree with the really hot, less hot part but "Freakin' cold" I don't think so, we may hit low 30s. you can ride year round if you really want to in any weather, but just like you said already with anything less than perfect weather even those who ride will drive instead.

if it was built in the middle of the metroplex I bet more people would attend but since its halfway up to Oklahoma it takes a plane ticket to get up there!

Because hipsters and drunk, armed cowhumpers driving big pickups don't get along all that well.
