I think it's an okay bike. But what I don't like about it is how many times I keep seeing it in this Single speed and Fixed gear sub-forum. Go stuff it in the face of all those roadies and see how they like it.

With my health the way it has been the fg/ss bikes have not been getting nearly as much love and a few bikes have been returned to geared status but the sun is shining, I feel pretty good, and think I should go and ride the **** out of the CCM today.

Yes, I was making a reference to how it is a cross bike, not a road bike.

Bingo. Also, remove that ridiculous lock carrier and get any other saddle ever made. edit- Also, get a real lock.

the theory behind the front disc mount is explained here https://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewt...f1dbf#16428986 .

my arms are not especially long. i sit back a lot farther than most here so a lot of that seemingly excess fore aft distance is taken up by hips moving back.

i have my fit with an arione dialed, but moving to a different saddle is making me have to do experimentation again. i might actually be going up to plus 20mm on the stem, but i havent tested that yet.

it was a single speed for a weekend!

Your saddle doesn't match the rest of the bike. Needs a silver post too. Everything else looks great!

yea, seems to be about right.

what kinda saddle would go with it? i've been eying the selle italia turbos a bit, but just can't seem to pull the trigger.

edit: also, been looking at kashimax saddles as well...

An SLR Fibra wouldn't look too bad. I think a Turbo would look bloated on a bike with thin(ish) tubing and shallow rims.

Are those Time ATAC's?

Is your frame too small for you?

The frame I believe is a 54 cm (might be 52cm) and i am 5' 10" so it's a good fit.

If you can't find a friend or peer with tools, I'm sure any local bike shop will let you use their tools at no charge. Honestly I'd recommend at least getting a good multitool if you're going to be at school all semester. I HIGHLY recommend the new Blackburn Toolmanator 2. It's super small, slim, and lightweight, without being flimsy or cheap. It has pretty much every tool you're going to need, except for a headset press and lockring wrench. I keep my Toolmanator in my pants pocket at all times and I'm never bothered by it in the least (I wear tight pants too!).

Anyway I'm relieved to see that's not your ideal fit setup; my knees ache just looking at that photo. Good looking bike btw; very clean and simple. Welcome to BFSSFG.

Slam stem and get shallower drops. The high stem is taking away from sexiness of the sloping top tube (I <3 lopros!). Also, either get a black stem or a silver post and fork.
