way to go noob. you should probably get a pair of rollerblades.

+1 :P

i think lance on a bmx would be an easy win for someone on a fixed gear, with say 42:16 gearing... even if he can spin at at 200rpm

ManlyDude69 11-26-08 03:27 PM

his first mistake was talking to a little kid and taking them seriously.

little kids are big pieces of ****. i like saying things like "shut the hell up kid" or just relentlessly mocking their pre-pubescent stupid voices.

when i used to skate there'd be a ton of annoying little kids at skateparks. you gotta keep them in their place by being a total dick. its cruel but necessary. give a kid an inch, he takes a mile. or he smokes you on his beat up bike and then a bunch of people on the internet tear into you for a couple of hours

schnee 11-26-08 03:46 PM

I so wanna buy that kid a beer right now.

jdms mvp 11-26-08 03:54 PM

i dont even know why he raced the kid....

1. if u win, so what...u beat a 12 y/o on a bmx bike...
2. if u lose, well...that sucks.

this should also be applied to any game played on xbox live.

I want to give him 3 packs of smokes so OP can redeem himself.

daodedick 11-26-08 06:50 PM

Dude, you should have caught up to him and molested him. That'd show him. <Sorry, I know this post is totally wrong. Mods, please delete if necessary.>

I would've done the same. It's not about win or lose (he's 12, for crying out loud) but it's just racing a neighborhood kid, who happened to win :D

Tomo_Ishi 11-27-08 08:57 AM

Hey,

You are being nice. All kids need self-confidence. Probably that 12 year old was trashed by a uber-fixie rider in a playground a block away and needed some ego-pumping. I was like that, too.

Then again, the trash-talking ain't cool in that situation. The boy needs some beating. ...

Dion Rides 11-27-08 11:12 AM

I ride BMX and fixed, but I flatland BMX so maybe I don't count. :p

Kids on BMX bikes are INSANE. They have to guts and energy to do amazing things. As a BMX'er I was WAY better back when I was a teen than I am now. I was able to climb hills that there is no way I could do now, all on my 32lb "freestyle" bike, and do tricks that I'm falling on my face these days on a $1000, 20lb. high-end flatland bike.

Fixed gear riders should get over it. It seems there's an air of elitistism when it comes to these bikes. They're fast and fun, but not the end-all of bicycles. As much "freedom" and "Zen-like" qualities they have, they are restrictive in many ways (we just don't like to talk about those things) and yes... getting smoked by a 12 yr. old on a Vertigo does not suprise me AT ALL.

In these times of childhood obesity, diabetes and laziness, I think it's cool when I see kids (bad attitudes aside) out there tearing it up on BMX bikes. BMX WAS my childhood... and I'm glad that it's still valid these days when it's easy to let it take second place to video games and Myspace for many youngsters.

Scalawag 11-27-08 11:20 AM

Yeah, my childhood was also BMX... Stealing "chromies" from expensive cars to put on our wheels, traveling around in posses of 12 through downtown... Jumping stairs and ****. It was pretty nuts. What's funny though is that each generation in my town, when they hit about 5th grade until maybe 8th, does the same thing. There's always BMX bike posses, especially during the summer, and every ****ing kid has one...

I give them credit, cuz I used to be the same way, and it's better than sitting inside all day like a lot of kids.

iamthenoise 11-27-08 12:54 PM

hey lane meyers, maybe next time just pay the kid his 2 dollars

[Mr.B] 11-27-08 01:19 PM

wat, how could this happen?

iansmash 11-27-08 03:43 PM

if you got dropped by a kid on a bmx bike, chances are you're fat/out of shape/a loser

any combination of the 3

jdms mvp 11-27-08 04:20 PM

lol

radiocontrolhea 11-27-08 08:21 PM

Terrain is a big factor here I'd say. For one, he has no brakes so he has to choose his path carefully.

uke 11-27-08 08:23 PM

^ That just sounds like one more reason to run brakes to me.

dayvan cowboy 11-28-08 04:09 PM

my friend and I stopped by the LBS on a ride today and there were these like 10 year old bmx kids standing around and they looked at me and started laughing and i heard them refer to me as planet of the apes.

I guess they've never seen a beard before.

durty 11-28-08 07:00 PM

"FU...I'm all jacked up on MOUNTAIN DEW!"
-what you didn't hear the 12 y/o say cuz he was already so far away.

Only in PA would a 12 year old kid yell "F you, you F'in hipster"

How the hell does a 12 year old know the term hipster?

azukisingle 11-28-08 07:30 PM

bmx vs. trackbike . bmx wins? I dunno about that.

the oppressed 11-28-08 09:01 PM

OP you are slow.

pissypaw 11-29-08 04:55 AM

What's your gear? Can't win a race over a pram on a silly 60in "skidding gear".

fgk23n 11-29-08 07:49 AM

I'm surprised a 12 year-old in Hanover knows what a hipster is - I know here in Wilkes-Barre most kids (or most people for that matter) know the term hipster.
