Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i use a kyrptonite keeper with the front wheel locked but i don't live in a very high theft area or leave my bike locked up for more than a few hours.

I feel most secure when i bring my bike into work and lock it to a railing in the access stairway.

I just bought a Kryptonite faggetaboutit u-lock, and it is amazing. The shackle is bigger than any on the market and the lock cylinder is as big as a beer bottle and has a 2 sided locking mechanism (needs to cut shackle on both sides). the nyf chain is just too big and heavy.

always use 2 locks in public places (i have the ulock and an abus chain) or take a wheel with you.

otherwise, DONT LOCK UP! BRING YOUR BIKE WITH YOU!!!!

I have the NYC fahgedaboudit, it's badass but it's heavy and the U part is only just wide enough to fit the wheel and seat tube in, worth bearing in mind if that's how you lock your bike.

I'm not sure what you mean by this... what else would you need to fit in if that's how you lock the bike?
