Removing Paint

Hey just wondering if theres any like household item I can soak my chain in to remove the paint I painted it with?
Don't respond with paint remover, just wondering if theres anything else

If it's spray paint, Easy Off oven cleaner will usually soften the paint enough
where it can be removed with a wire brush or a stiff plastic brush... Let it soak
in for a good 5 minutes first.
