Bottom Bracket Question??

Ok so I'm working on my second build and am currently in the process of picking my cranks. What I'm thinking of getting are the Pake one's because that's what my budget covers, but here's my problem: I have a cup and ball spindle at the moment and the website says I need a JIS spindle, and what I want to know is can I just buy a new bottom bracket and swap it with the one I have? Or not?

JIS indicates the nature of the taper on the spindle. Do you know what brand your current BB is? Do you know the length of the spindle?

It's a 7mm by 150mm cup and ball bracket. The like with a short, threaded "bolt" coming out at the end which you screw a nut on.

you're going to need an american to european bottom bracket converter...

truvativ makes a decent one that i used on my beater... it allows you to mount a traditional bb and 3 piece cranks instead of the cheaper 1 piece cranks...

here's a bulletproof from harris: https://harriscyclery.net/itemdetails.cfm?ID=2819
