Wheel/Tire Conversion Problem

Hey guys I am currently converting an old sears bike to a SS with a 700 flip flop wheel. Here is my problem, The tire I was going to use is too tall and I was wondering if there are shorter tires that would fit in this space, and even better if you got any suggestions.

tires are sized by wheel size then tire diameter. i.e. 700 x 23, 700 x 25, 700 x 32, 700 x 35, etc

the smaller the 2nd number, the smaller the tire. i would imagine a 23 would fit in there? it is a pretty close fit though. i assume this bike used to have 26" wheels?

Should have clearance for a 23 in there. Try it out.

Ya it was a 26, and I was trying to use a 700 x 29. I prefer wider tires so if any one knows who make one that will work for me please let me know. Thanks.

29 is going to be pretty round. Hard to find a small tire that will squat!

You will have to go to a smaller size.

I want to be sure so i think i am going to go with these in the 20 size, hope they hold up to the occasional skids.

Unless of course anyone has a better suggestion that is around the same price.
