Look in the previous page where I posted my double strap setup. I rode my friend's toshis and then made these and honestly the suede I used holds my feet snug enough to NOT justify buying toshis cause they hold just as well but that's just me.
saw them...a few of my friends have similar home-brew solutions... but the toshi's have better buckles (in grip and they are secured with 2 pins), and have an extra layer of leather and nylon in the middle... i'm sure they'll outlast those cristophe's... maybe not worth the 100... but worth investing in IMO |
well I'm broke so once i can afford toshis and they're priced reasonably I'll be getting a set.

I'm about to purchase some new pedals/clips/straps, and decided, what the hell, splurge for some toshi's (single's at least). Can anyone recommend where to find singles/doubles the cheapest?
Thanks. |
try craigslist...ive seen used ones go for round 50-60... they're going to cost you about the same price everywhere. benscycles.com has them for 95 bucks...that's pretty low...i think i saw them for 110 at a LBS not too long ago

you wouldn't slip if you had some sweet snug-tight swede leather doublers to go with those cristophe straps. . . :D

tucking those ends in is a really bad idea...
You're supposed to be able to adjust them while riding, I say. You shouldn't be able to pull your foot out easily unless you loosen them, I shout! Shut up, that's just your opinion, they reply. Oh well. Too bad, so sad. |
take note of this-
the only way to route single straps! |

haha, i saw you post that before, but i couldnt throw out a huge number like that because ive never seen toshis that old. the construction is different, but its conceivable that toshis will last like that. when our straps turn forty and if neither of them are already busted, well get back together and swap pictures.
