Powder coating in NYC?

I'm only finding places that specialize in motorcycles.

Any of you fellow NYC people know of any places that have experience with bike frames? Aluminum ones, at that.

I'd need chemical stripping (can't do sandblasting with aluminum frames) and a single color powdercoat.

Give them a shot. Bigbris1 recommended them to me.

I don't post at all but I have to tell you, don't go to Bay Powder coating. I brought a frame to them to be powder coated a few months back and I didn't like the finish. The color wasn't even throughout, especially on edges. Not to mention the fact that they charged me $150 for the job. They did not pay attention to detail at all. Your money will probably be better spent elsewhere. And I'm not 100% sure but I think they only sandblast.

There's a place called Carter spray in Greenpoint that does a lot of bikes. They don't sand-blast, but will recommend good places to have that done.

I haven't seen their work myself though, so I can't fully vouch for them. I just know they do bicycles all the time.

Bay Cycles has a chemical (what they call acid) dip & if you tell Joe I sent you he will do a good job. As with anything, sometimes you just have to hang around the shop a bit & they will take care of you.

I have had 2 frames done there & was very pleased with the result. On my current bike I asked that he go light on the powder so that the lugs & detail (Reynolds stamp & Campagnolo stamps) on the frame were still visible. Done & Done. 100 bucks.

The best part is if you don't like the result, he will redo it for you for free.
