Unfortunately, Australians don't have the benefit of cheap discounted bike retailers suck as Bikes Direct (Mercier TT etc). This is probably the cheapest fixie of its kind here. The nearest bike in comparison is the Fuji Track (AU$599 RRP excluding brakes). The SE Lager is AU$700. The Schwinn Madison is AU$850. The Cell is AU$549.

Well, then components wise how does this compare to the SE Lager? Oh btw the Lager is $499 at Goldcross but unfortunately its the toilet white one =|.

Call me crazy, but it looks to be a good entry-level fixed gear.

No way that is a Draft; track ends are too long to be one!

i don't ride anything male.

Tarck or not, I like colorful bikes.

Actually I think yours seems restrained.

Did they grab the caps off a walker and slap them on those bars? But yeah, the Quandos and the crummy images wouldn't give me much confidence. Accordingly, I'm a bit skeptical of the triple-butted claim. If you could verify the frame construction yourself, then it seems like a decent deal, and you could part it out or ride the crappy stuff into the ground and upgrade as you go.

The CELL bike is now up to AU$699. The $550 price is for preorders (now closed).

At this point, the best deal in OZ is the SE Lager (White) at Goldcross for AU$499. That's US$350 or so. Bargain. I paid AU$700 for the black version two months ago.

The bike isn't dented, it wasn't taken with a white back round though, it was photoshopped onto one, and the photoshop is crappy. Granted a chop job that crappy still doesn't do wonders for marketing.

I've been into Cell a few times because they are almost close enough to be my LBS.

FWIW the guys in the shop are very helpful, and way more knowledgeable than my "real" LBS.

From what I've seen the cosmetic finish of the bikes is fine - better than Giant for example. I don't know what they would look like after a year's use.

They seem to rely on high turnover/low margins. I haven't bought a bike from them, just accessories. Lights, gloves, racks, etc are about 30% less than the other LBS, so if the same benchmark is applied to their built-up bikes I'd guess there is value there.
