Wheelset Recommendations. Two Choices.
Hey all,
Looking for some help deciding on a wheelset - I've narrowed it down to these two, and was hoping some people here may have heard something, or have some experience with either of these two sets.
First set:
$170.00
New School wheels, with strong 32mm deep section pinned-joint rims and 36 spokes laced 3-cross to our high flange hubs. Single-sided for fixed only. Includes 1/8" 16T cog and lockring. Replaceable cartridge bearings. Stainless 14g spokes with brass nipples. Non machined sidewalls for a clean look. No ridges, or protruding brake surfaces, these rims have a nice smooth elliptical profile. Clean and strong. I weigh 230lbs and I've ridden these for thousands of miles, and they are still running true. Brakes work fine. People have been using rim brakes on non-machined rims for over 100 years. Now in satin black or polished silver. Weight: 1100g each (F/R).
Second Set:
$300.00
Gran Compe, Japan, all black track wheelset.
Gran Compe rims, 24mm deep, all black anodized, with eyelets, clincher 700c type.
Gran Compe sealed bearing track high flange hubs, black anodized, 32 hole.
Black spokes laced 3 cross pattern, built at the factory.
Rim tape already fitted.
Thanks in advance!

One wheel set is nearly twice the price of the other. Neither are hand built.
Not what you want to hear but get (https://www.bicyclewheels.com/merchan...egory_Code=FGM) instead (they also have a fixed/free hub version if that is your thing). It is black like you wanted.
