Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Note about Mayo book.

***This is not meant to be a slam, or a guilt trip or anything like this. More of an easy way to remind people, and put up my intentions. ***
Many of you have asked via PM to be sent a copy of Mayo's book that was put together by some folks here. A lot of you have already sent payment, and have received the books. I've PM'd everyone who I've received a check/cash/MO from, and sent out the regular editions. The special editions are on their way now (mailed today).
As this is posted, about 1/2 the cost have been covered. MANY of you have sent more than the amount asked, to which I thank you very much. I'm thankful to everyone who sent something, regardless of amount. 1/2 the cost is killed, and that's cool. For some others I haven't received any mail from. To date, that numbers about half who showed interest in purchasing a copy of this. Some people have PM'd saying there's a little delay, which is cool too. Communication is more important than a fast check, really.
If you sent something, and haven't got a PM that I've received it, please PM me so I can figure out if there's a break down somewhere.
If you said you wanted one, and things have gotten busy, etc, PM me and let me know that life is busy, etc. I'm cool with that.
If you said you wanted one, and are no longer interested.. two ways to deal with it:
PM me and just say no longer interested. No harm, no foul, just want to know so I can unpromise any special editions, and un mark any regular copies for sale/etc others
Or, if I don't hear something by... Friday, I'll just knock your name of the list.
I'm not gonna list names or haggle via email, this is just a faster way to remind, check for communication problems, and to make it easy to move on. I'm not gonna produce a list to anyone of who didn't follow through ~ it's not about that. Just want to close the loop on things and keep things moving

Interesting thing: I was down at Yojimbo's on Sunday and Marcus (the owner) had a copy and asked me if I had seen it. The word is spreading, and not just for Jesus! Thank the gods!

Boo hoo for lucklust!

Mayo has a LONG cool down period and isn't nearly as angry as I suspected.

If anyone wants to send willy a check for me, and I'll pay you via paypal then I'm up for it. I currently have no US account so it makes things difficult (read expensive) to transfer money other ways.

What is the difference between the special edition and the regular? Are special editions still available?

FYI,

The special editions are on thier way, some have already been mailed, and another batch should leave this weekend or monday.

Thanks for all those who followed up: I understand how busy life gets, and this is minor in the scheme of things. I'll be holding copies for all who got a hold of me!

Thanks again,

William

Just a closing ish note. The last of the special editions will be in the mail soon: there are about 4 that need to go out, I'll PM those waiting patiently about it. The CD burner has a mind and issues of it's own.. Anyway, I've gotten word that it should be fixed by this weekend.

At any rate, if you have sent something my way and haven't gotten either a PM, or have gotten a PM and not gotten a book, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, PM me. It's important to me that everyone what they paid for. I've got a pretty good log of request/money in/books out.. But two copies have come back with bad addresses (one of which was due to my sloppy writting).. So, please let me know.

Thanks!
