I wouldn't put one on my fg now, but back in the late 80s and early 90s when I still raced tri's, I was rockin' a pair of aerospokes on my tri bike (Trek 2100 with the carbon tubes on aluminum stays/forks).
20-odd years ago, the science behind bike tech wasn't as slick as it is now, so the design on the aerospoke was actually more aero than many of the wheels on the market. There weren't 50mm deep section rims available at the time.
