Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? But would a Dawes Jaguar make an OK conversion.

It will be my first one but it seems to be a nice looking bike, 531 tubing, horizontal dropouts. Anyone had any experience with one? Are they ok bikes or a piece of trash?

Ok, really now, you have answered the only two questions you really need to ask.
Can it be converted? Well, it has horizontal drops, so probably.
Is it an ok bike? Well, it's made of 531, so probably.

Go convert it and ride it around for a while and then you come back and tell me whether it can be converted. My first bike was a piece of **** Fuji- if I had asked around here I would still be walking everywhere.

It's a great typo though.

I geuss I'll get it then and see how it goes. Only problem with that is you'll probably be hearing more from me, but I'm sure you can cope.

Somehow I swore this thread was going to be about rubbing one out and the eventual blindness associated with it.

Yes, you'll go to blind, I geuss, alot.

Its a coping mechanism.
