Bikes: Fixie Conversion- Old frame(I think Spalding haha) custom painted myself with cannondale saddle, orignal seat post, decalless shun track crank, decalless vuelta deepdish wheelset, czar cst road competition tires, bullhorns and tange BB
Since this comes up all the time, here's a pointer for those who just got their first fixed bike: tighten your cog and lockring well, and verify that they're tight before and after your first few rides.
Were you backpedaling / skidding when you felt a sudden slip in your drivetrain? Did it then slip back in the other direction when you pedaled forward? Stop. Do not pass go. Your cog and lockring aren't tight enough, and you'll strip something if you don't fix it pronto.

I just got my Windsor timeline and had a question. The bike came as a singlespeed with a 16T freewheel. Does that need to be tightened adjusted in any way before I ride it? I've already got everything else in order and am hesitant because I know things can be stripped with a fixed cog and lockring.

If you were really paranoid you could remove the freewheel, grease the threads, and then spin it back on. But you probably don't have the tools to do that. And it's not really necessary. Any tightening that needs to happen will occur the first time you climb a hill.
You should be fine.

Noob here. I want to buy a FG and really dig my friends Langster. It's a 2009, aluminum model. Seems like Steel is the favored frame material, though. I'm not entirely opposed to steel, I just really enjoy the feel of aluminum. Any reason I should consider one material over the other? I was going to pull the trigger on a Dawes SST AL, but didn't want to make any hasty decisions. I'd like to spend no more than $400 since it will be an errand runner, campus cruiser, and downtown rider when I don't feel like taking out my Trek. The IRO Mark V looks sweet, as does the Pista. Are drop style brakes expensive? I know the Langster comes with Tektro brakes with drop levers. I'd definitely like to put those on whatever bike I get since I really enjoy riding on the hoods.

Just got a fixed gear and have a couple of questions.
-Where is the nearest Urban Outfitters, and do they have skinny jeans on sale?
-Do I have to grow a ridiculous mustache, or will a beard suffice?
-Keys on a caribiner. Do I wear them on front or in back?
-PBR or High Life?
-How do I bar spins?
(the preceding questions are all me being a complete smart ass, but feel free to answer them. i have recently acquired an inexpensive fg in hopes to lose some weight and keep my ticker in shape. i'm and old punk rocker and skater and the only real question i have after riding my first 15 miles is, "is my abc (ass-ball connection) supposed to hurt this bad?". thnks)

Philthy - welcome. I'm also an old punk rocker (with emphasis on old). Your taint will be sore at first but it should pass. It also depends on what kind of saddle you've got and its position.
Oh...and btw - keys on the side for easy access is fine but never keys in front (unless you're from Michigan, love Bob Seger AND Kid Rock and drive a Camaro). High Life FTW.

Hmm, they are all really cheap compared to their MSRP.
I'd love to try out the Arione for $59, the $80 is the same but different colour.
You could snag the Regal too and give it a try and I bet you could sell it for a higher price if you end up not liking it.

Regal already responded, might drop by after work and check it out. My ass cant handle my asshatchet anymore. Gotta buy a bib or something. Any recommendations on a place to get cheap cycling underoos?
