Worth the buy? help :)

Hi everyone..

I recently got into fixed gear riding. I already own a kilo tt and I absolutely love it. I ride every weekend back home but unfortunately go to college in riverside and have no way of transporting my kilo back and forth. So...I am looking to buy a second bicycle to keep at my college home, for transportation and such. So searching through craigslist I found this bike (pics below). The selling price is $160..and I was thinking of slowly getting new parts...converting it to a fixed as well. I just want to know if $160 is way to much and not worth it for an old frame and if I should just wait to find a better deal. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thanks guys

dont be lazy.

take off the frigging front wheel, it takes literally 30 seconds!

w/ the front wheel off i can fit it into a XA!! SCION XA!!! go look up how big the xa is.

or 160 is enough to get a bike rack, or two even.

See if you can get pics of the dropouts. If they're forged, it's probably worth converting...wait isn't it already converted? if you're buying the whole bike, 160 sounds fine. If its just the frame, I would want to know that it was not a bottom-of-the-line Peugot.

Bikes: giant fixed gear and a cannondale road bike

i would ask the owner how the bottom bracket was converted cuz if it has french threading...there are only a few ways of converting properly.

Bikes: Right now, 8-10 various steeds

Find a beater near your second destination and cop that.

Less than $160

You go home every weekend and don't own a car?

Buy a bike rack for $30-50 off of craigslist and ask the driver to let you use it.

looks like you might have a 70s pug. ask the guys at classicand vintage to find out more. but hopefully if it is a 70s peugeot, none of the components break. i had a 70s peugeot before until i sold it on craigslist...but it was such a headache trying to find replacement parts for it...because they dont make french components anymore. but if its an 80s pug...then it will have a swiss bottom bracket. ive learned from the past that french bikes are not worth my time.
