Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Arrospok??

Always thought they looked neat but never really understood the benefits. I don't trick and I'm looking to build something new this spring. Any thoughts??

Everyone and their mother has an opinion about these wheels. Use the search function.

Don't carbon wheels work on a different principal than spoke wheels? That is that you are standing on top of the carbon that is between the axle and the ground rather than deforming your wheel into an egg shape as you roll around? With the logic that the carbon is a stiffer circle.
//has never riden a carbon wheel

IMO there's no ride that can't be enhanced with a bit of Aerospokism.

i thought that once aerospoke had shipped out their 4+ month wait wheel, the fad was already over..

safe your self a few and get a nice well built traditional spoked wheel.
Theres nothing a regular wheel can't do that an aerospoke can

Also, if you break a spoke, would you rather it be the end of your wheel or take some of your time to get another.

they are heavy but strong

either you like the looks or you don't. ultimately most people are not going to put something on their bike they find hideous.

Glad you took the time to read the thread to see that I am posting from my phone and search function wasn't working. Next time I'm laid up in bed after surgery I'll find more appropriate ways to kill time sir. I'm so sorry I offended you.
