Bikes: too many

looks like a woodshop project. what's with all the rear triangle going so far past the dropouts?

I love strange bikes, but I couldn't see myself spending more than 30 for it, maybe 50

what is it made of? doesn't look like CF, looks like lumpy fiberglass. it doesn't even look symmetrical in the rear. looks heavy too...

hope it turns out great

Wow, that thing looks like some kind of Mech warrior. Is it fun to ride or clunky and awkward. This frame seems like it's long lost lover.

yea i was gonna buy that frame from the kid too. He said he would take 50 for it. Obviously I didnt buy it. I prefer a frame that at least looks solid. Id just put it on the wall and not risk your life riding it.

It rides like a quality road bike, really fun too, no where near clunky and awkward.

Ding, ding, ding! We've got a winner!

I did a bit of research and got the scoop on the frame, I contacted the seller (wasnt easy) and he told me that he's an engineering student over at Drexel, he found the complete bike in the dumpster at the engineering dept at Drexel U when he first started there, he mentioned that it must have been a class project or even an entry to a contest of some sort, he has a set of tubulars that were on it and all the Campy goodies. So there you have it, more than likely built by student engineers over at Drexel. So all you guys that mentioned that the frame looks "homemade" you were partially right, as for structural integrity? I guess that depends on how well the students paid attention in class! Thanks all for the replies.

Campy drops on "freaky frame"

Here are a few before and after pics of the drops and front derailleur hanger, they are Campy, Im going to clean it up, get some body work and paint done, then build it up as a single speed artsy wall hanger.

I didnt think it would bother anyone if I started a new thread about the progress of the frame, Im going to have it painted yellow, but there are no "excessive aero fins" in the future of this frame
EDIT: I contacted the mods to see what they could do about merging this post with the other, but if they're cool with the new thread well then so am I.
