The leg extension is fine, the photos don't show this.
The reach is fine and my saddle to bar drop isn't uncomfortable.

And if it hasn't hurt me yet, I doubt it will.
And sorry I can't "pony up", I'm not made of money.

People are dicks. Most of the people here are pretty helpful and nice..

And looking at the geometry page for these frames.....The 51cm you got is measured from center of the BB to the top of the seat collar, not c-c or c-t. That's a tiny bike. It's probably something like 47 cm c-c if that is indeed how they are measured.

But if it feels fine, who gives a ****. I'm 5'10" and ride a 52cm c-c frame. So we're in basically the same ballpark as far as frame size to rider size goes, and I'm fine with my bike.

check out this fit calculator from Competitive Cyclist. Obviously, you'll want to get professionally fitted, but in the interim, you can fit yourself and get a good idea of what needs to be adjusted. They offer 3 distinct types of fits, from an aggressive (frame will be 2-3cm smaller than normal) fit, to a long distance (frame will be 2-3cm larger than normal) fit. Seat to BB measurements, seat to handlebar measurements, etc, will be given based on about 12 dimension you input into the form... Like i said, not the be all end all solution, but it will help you dial in a better fit, allowing you to further tweak your components in a more focused way. I used it to solve a problem with numb hands, adjusting my saddle height and location, found out that my stem was too short, etc. Helped out tremendously.

According to the mechanic at the shop its fine and he's been riding fixed on the street and velodrome for several years but it would be reassuring to get some more feedback from people here.

I really can't stomach the idea of buying a new frame and doing this all over again (especially since I can't sell my frame for as much anymore since I took off the Pake stickers and there are scratches on top tube from locking.)

But if it needs to be done, it needs to be done.. I guess I'll see.....

looks fine to me... and you said you felt fine riding it... I wouldn't go bigger till you rode a 53 to see what it fits like.

That is a tiny bike. The "classic" way to size a frame is to have a fistful of seatpost. This is from the days where the seat tube is even with the top of the toptube, also. Also, I noticed that your seat is angled down now....that's a telltale sign of the bike being too small. Post it on cl and tell people that the lock-up scratches are from messin'. Also ken, didn't you say you can't make a big bike smaller? Sure you can. Lower the seatpost and/or get a shorter stem. A larger bike will give you a more comfortable, upright position. A smaller bike will give you more agile handling. I like to size my frames 1-2cm bigger than I need, cause it gives me less saddle-to-bar drop. I find it more comfortable on the 30-60mi rides I regularly do. I just don't look as cool as the other kids.

The biggest issue is ******* thinking it's cool to flip off the camera.

As for the front white tire. They used to match and I skidded through the back tire and switched em. The white happened to be cheaper than a black tire. Sorry my color-coordination isn't up to your standards.

So what do you guys think? This frame is 51cm. I'm guessing I should go with a 53?
Nobody around here carries Pake frames so there's really no way for me to test one.
All the parts should be compatible too, right?

i'd say if your frame was uncomfortable move up to a 53. but you said you rode 30+ miles and you felt fine, so i'd say just enjoy your bike. **** haters

This image shows a decent extension and if you say you weren't sore from a 35 mile ride, then it looks like you shouldn't worry about getting another frame. I would personally want a few more inches on the fork and I'd flip the stem to give a more upright position, but if it works... it works.

Besides the girl jeans, I see nothing wrong with these pictures. If it feels comfortable (the ride), that's all that matters.

Thanks Jared. I never even thought about adjusting the fork. So you're saying I can get a fork a couple inches taller and be able to lower the seat post a bit? Or how would that benefit me exactly.. I dig what you're saying but am a bit confused as to its benefits.

Also, it was more comfortable when the stem was flipped but also more cramped.

Wasn't sure if I should sacrifice seat to bar drop for reach or not.

I just feel like I look like a giant on this whip. It's real fun to ride. And I DO get sore at times (calves, thighs and back) but that is it.

Mostly, I just don't want to look like a fool.

Moving to Portland soon and I know its the capitol of bike-snobs and just don't feel like getting called out on the daily.

Once I build my legs up I'll start wearing baggier jeans, promise ;)

Just for the record: I'd much rather have a bike that was a couple cm too big than a couple cm too small. Just my personal preference.

Dude a 51cm is the perfect size for someone your height. PLEASE PLEASE stop reading this thread and listening to advise from people that obviously don't know a god dam thing about bike fit. Enjoy your bike. Honestly I'm stunned by some of the **** I'm reading here.

The reason it won't fit worth a crap is that you obviously have a super long, low stem with all your weight forward on your hands. Hell, your hands are almost forwards of your axle! You tower over that frame too. With that setup, and the sloped seat, you're going to eventually start hurting.

there are so many things about this that make me angry. first of all, it takes a really big person to go around on forums and trash people they don't know for incredibly trivial reasons. if you really are so high and mighty above the "fixie losers" why are you wasting your time on here picking on people?
