Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yep, that's right. I bought my first fixie. After all my talk earlier about buying a North American made bike, I wimped out and bought a Raleigh that my LBS had in stock. This is what it looks like.

The only modifications I made was clipless pedals & a rear rack. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

you sound far too kind hearted for this forum. if the road forum molested the bmx forum and it had an illigitimate kid, this is what it would be.

regardless, welcome. i was going to buy a one-way, but i couldn't find the black 08 in my size... how do you like it?

Excellent choice, I test ride the '08 model and really liked it. The only wrong thing about this bike is that it's so good looking of the rack that I wouldn't change any parts on it to satisfy my customisation addiction.

funny, thats exactly why i wanted it initally. my girlfriend and i were looking for a grocery bike, and this was the first one i saw that i really liked. the only thing i wanted to change were the bars (moustache or proms).

i got a trek soho s instead. even with moustache bars, pannier wire baskets and a front setma rack and wire basket, it looks kinda lame.

man i wish i got the one way...
