Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

has anyone here actually raced keirin before? Is there any serious differences between keirin and U.S. velo? I havent been to the track yet on race day, just for practice a few times. All i can say is that im totally jealous of all the sweet keirin bikes, totally need to get one.

The two cyclists seen escaping the crash later died of terminal illnesses.

so yes, keirin always 100% of the time results in death.

I guess they don't wear big helmets and football shoulder pads because it's pretty!
I've been to keirin in Japan, it's violent!

You may die, but it will be an honorable death.

What is regular Velo? There are many different types of events that occur in a velodrome.
